Association of College and Research Libraries

The ACRL (Association of College and Research Libraries) is a division of the ALA (American Library Association) whose purpose is to "enhance the ability of academic library and information professionals to serve the information needs of the higher educations community and to improve learning, teaching, and research".  The section on Information Literacy on this site is clear and informative and includes a simple definition for information literacy: the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information.  It also includes information on why Information Literacy is important, who needs Information Literacy, and provides a list of resources that are helpful in learning more about Information Literacy.
